Exodus is one of the many fine thrash bands to emerge from the Bay Area scene. They had all sorts of weird connections with other bands. Steve Souza was Testament's original singer and the band (Exodus) was formed by Kirk Hammett. This band, some consider to be the band that epitomized thrash more than anyone else. They certainly did have their own distinct style though. Steve Souza has one of the most recognizable voices in thrash. They broke up around 1992, and they just reformed in 1997. Hopefully we'll get new thrash masterpieces from this awesome band. The members are: Paul Baloff - vocals (1982 - 1986, 1997 – present), Steve Souza - vocals (1986 - 1992), Gary Holt - guitars (1982 - present, Rick Hunolt - guitars (1982 - present), Kirk Hammett – guitars (1982), Rob McKillop - bass (1982 - 1990), Mike Butler - bass (1990 - 1992), Tom Hunting - drums (1982 - 1989, 1997 - present), John Tempesta - drums (1990 - 1992), Jack Gibson - bass (1997 - present).

After a 5 year break up, Exodus reformed with original singer Paul Baloff, and the rest of the original line-up (except for the bassist). On the live reunion album (Another Lesson In Violence), they play all the old classics. Every song off Bonded By Blood except for "Metal Command" is here, as well as three songs from Pleasures Of The Flesh, and the un-released song "Impaler" which was co-written by Kirk Hammett when he was in the band. This new album is really great. Paul Baloff sounds better on here than he did on the first album, since his vocals aren't so echoed. Hopefully the new incarnation of Exodus will last, and we'll get a lot more awesome studio albums from this band. Thrash needs a savior, and hopefully Exodus will be it.
